Disney Vacation Packages - Planning Tips from Dave Chapple and Primo Vacations (Part 1)

Disneyland Planning Tips – Part 1

Walt Disney World is the happiest place on earth - I should know because I'm a big kid.  Despite all the Walt Disney world information and Disneyland planning tips available online, I thought I'd use my own experience to provide some Walt Disney World answers to some Walt Disney World Questions – based on my experience there a few years ago.

Whilst I'm no Disney Vacation Packages expert, I'll share some of the tips that helped make our family trip to Disneyland Orlando a truly memorable trip of a lifetime. Part 1 today starts at the planning stage with more to come over the coming days.

So, just how happy a place is Disneyland Florida?
Well, despite trying to be real grumpy to test the theory and the kids having bought me a Disney s “Grumpy” hoody to get me in the mood, after just 20 minutes in Walt Disney Magic Kingdom in Orlando I was completely swept up in the escapism of it all - I just couldn't help it, I was a very happy man indeed.

But the whole brilliant Disney experience didn't start there – it began several months earlier in a cold and damp UK when the decision was made that we were going to Walt Disney World in Florida.

Walt Disney World Planning Tip No.1: Research Research Research - Plan Plan Plan

If you spend a massive amount of time and effort at the outset researching and planning the entire trip in a bit of detail, you will have a far more enjoyable Disneyland visit later. Most of the time and effort involves just wading through the mountains of Disney World information and advice available from Travel Agents and online.

This is one of the most exciting and rewarding parts of the whole Disney World adventure and leads me nicely onto my next tip.

(I'll provide more details of some excellent planning resources a little later on - at this stage just start collecting the information).

Walt Disney World Planning Tip No.2: Get The Whole Family Involved In Planning

Any Disney Adventure is a trip primarily intended for the kids - so allow them to be involved from the get go and the whole family will start to enjoy the vacation immediately.
Some of my best memories from our trip will always be the expressions on my daughters (And Natalie the big kid) faces when just planning it.

My Lovely GirlsWe got the girls looking things up online, picking out favourite rides and attractions, where they wanted to shop, what they'd like to eat and so on.

We talked about rest days, shopping days, kids choice days, grown up days, travel, transport and accommodation options and even involved them in looking at the various costs involved. You'll be amazed at how sensible kids can be when given some responsibilities.

This was where the real excitement started to build.

Planning our trip in some detail from a very early stage was largely responsible for our Disney vacation being such a success.

So, as soon as you've decided that you are going to get a Disney vacation package – imagine that your vacation starts from that point on. Start to enjoy just planning the trip with your whole family. It will be a fun time and well worth the effort.

I would love to hear your tips that helped make your Disney Trip a success. Submit your Disney travel tips in the comments box below for everyone to share.

Next time we'll look at your travel and accommodation options.
